The YMCA of Superior California announced Tuesday it is opening emergency child care sites in the wake of school closures due to the coronavirus outbreak. “The YMCA has a very long history of being of service to this country, to this community,” said President & CEO Sharna Brauck. “We’ve been through wars, we’ve been through depressions, we’ve been through other illnesses, acts of God, we are there to help. And when we see a need, that’s what we do.”The YMCA closed its gyms on Monday because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Now, the organization is transforming gyms into emergency child care sites at these five locations:Sacramento Central YMCA: 2021 W Street, Sacramento, CA 95818East Sac YMCA: 3600 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95816Yolo County YMCA: 1300 College Street, Woodland, CA 95695Oroville YMCA: 1684 Robinson Street, Oroville, CA 95965Plumas Lakes at Cobblestone Elementary: 1718 Churchill Way, Plumas Lake, CA 95961
